Papua Prosecutor's Office Names 3 Corruption Suspects At LPMP Papua, State Loss Of IDR 43 Billion

PAPUA - Papuan High Prosecutor's Special Crime Investigators (Kejati) named three suspects in the alleged corruption case within the Papua Education Quality Institution (LPMP) in 2019-2021, which caused state losses to reach Rp43 billion.

Assistant for Special Crimes at the Papua Attorney General's Office, Nixon Mahuse, said the three suspects were the Head of the Papua LPMP with the initials AH, the Treasurer of AI Expenditures, and Treasurer Recipient R.

"The determination of the suspect was carried out last Friday after investigators found more than two pieces of evidence that were quite strong," said Nixon accompanied by the Head of the Investigation Section (Kasidik) Valery Dedy Sawaki in Jayapura, Antara, Thursday, October 30.

According to Nixon, the state loss of Rp43 billion came from the management of the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) of Rp34 billion and Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) of Rp8 billion.

The modes carried out by the suspects, he continued, include budget collection exceeding the actual value and the use of these funds for personal gain, such as house rehabilitation, the purchase of private cars, as well as various other expenses that investigators are still investigating.

"Investigators also found that there was a use of the budget for fictitious expenditures and personal expenditures that could not be accounted for from APBN funds," said Nixon.

Kasidik Valery Sawaki added that investigators had confiscated a car from one of the suspects and received a refund of Rp2 billion.
