TANGERANG - Deputy Minister of Health (Wamenkes) Dante Saksono Harbuwono revealed that around two million children in Indonesia have mental health problems, based on the results of free mental health checks carried out by the Ministry of Health.
"From the reports we received in a free mental health check that has reached around 20 million people, there are more than two million children who have mental health problems," said Dante at the World Mental Health Day event at the Tangerang City Puspemkot, Antara, Thursday, October 30.
The Ministry of Health now provides online counseling services that can be accessed at any time for people who experience stress, depression, or have the desire to commit suicide through the healing 119.id platform.
"This platform can be a place to share complaints anonymously, facilitated by social and clinical psychologists who are ready to listen 24 hours," said Dante.
According to him, within three months of its launch, the service has been visited by more than 45 thousand users.
"This is a small step, but it means big for efforts to heal the nation's soul," he said.
Dante emphasized that stress and mental health challenges are unavoidable parts of everyday life. Therefore, people are encouraged to support and strengthen psycho-social support for anyone who is struggling with their mental health.
He invited the public to start a simple step in creating a healthy environment, such as greeting people around every morning.
"Because we never know, such a small greeting may be a source of positive energy that can save someone from despair," he said.
