HP Content Employee 'Basta Cell' Had TIME To Join When KKB Was Suspected Of Shooting In Dekai

The Cartenz Papua Peace Task Force suspects that the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) or sympathizers were involved in the shooting incident against residents in Dekai, Yahukimo Regency, last Tuesday night.

Head of Operations for the Cartenz Peace Task Force, Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani, said the shooting took place at around 19.20 WIT at the Ruko Blok C Complex, Line 1, Dekai District.

"There were no casualties in the incident, and it is not certain which group carried out the shooting," said Faizal in Jayapura, Antara, Thursday, October 30.

Based on the report he received, the incident began when two employees of the cell phone counter 'Basta Cell', namely Firman (30) and Fikri (20), heard the sound of a loud impact like a stone throw that hit the iron door.

The two of them came out to check, but found no suspicious signs. When they returned inside, suddenly a perpetrator appeared from the corner of the room carrying a long-barreled weapon.

The perpetrator grabbed his gun repeatedly and pointed the barrel at the counter. Fikri immediately lay down to take cover, while Firman, who was repairing his cellphone, was not aware of the threats in front of him.

"The witness saw the perpetrator then fled towards the back of the shophouse complex. Residents who knew about the incident immediately reported it to the police," said Faizal.

Receiving public reports, joint personnel from the Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force, Yahukimo Police, and Brimob Company 3 went straight to the scene to conduct investigations and sweeps.

The authorities also tightened patrols around Dekai City to ensure the situation was safe and conducive again.
