JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero), through its Central Java Regional Office for Pertamina Patra Niaga, has ensured that all gas stations (SPBU) in Blora Regency are safe from water contamination in Pertalite fuel.
Pertamina's Area Manager for Communication, Relations, and CSR, Taufiq Kurniawa, explained that inspections are conducted using two methods: manual and digital.
"The manual test uses a water paste to detect the presence of water in the tank, while the digital test uses an Automatic Tank Gauge (ATG) device that can monitor fuel volume and detect contamination," he said when contacted in Blora on Thursday, as reported by Antara.
Inspections at 19 gas stations in Blora Regency revealed no water content in the fuel. The specific gravity of Pertalite remained within the range of 0.722–0.726, in accordance with Pertamina's safety and quality standards.
Visual inspections also ensure that Pertalite is free from water contamination, as changes in the fuel's color and density are immediately visible if contamination occurs.
"All gas stations in Blora are safe. Consumers don't need to worry about filling up, especially in the border area with East Java," said Taufiq.
Although all gas stations have been declared safe, Pertamina has opened a customer complaint handling post at the Karangjati gas station in Blora.
Customers can report directly to the post or through the Call Center 135 if they experience vehicle problems after refueling.
"If there's proven damage caused by the fuel, gas stations throughout Indonesia are ready to compensate consumers," explained Taufiq.
One customer, Muafiq, said he experienced no problems after filling up with Pertalite at the Karangjati gas station.
"So far, my motorcycle is safe, no worries," he said.
Previously, motorcycles broke down after filling up with Pertalite in Tuban and Bojonegoro, East Java, which directly borders Blora Regency.
