JAKARTA - Minister of Protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI) Mukhtarudin emphasized that Cambodia was not included in the official list of countries for the placement of migrant workers from Indonesia.

"Regarding the issue of existing workers specifically for Cambodia, I want to explain that Cambodia is not a placement country. So the government, especially KP2MI, has never decided to designate Cambodia as a country for the placement of migrant workers," said Mukhtarudin in Central Jakarta, Tuesday, October 28.
Mukhtarudin explained that the determination of a country as a destination for the placement of migrant workers cannot be done carelessly. The government must ensure that the country has a good social protection and security system for foreign workers.
