Venezuela Captures CIA 'agent' Mercenaries Intending To Trigger Military Confrontation

JAKARTA - Venezuela condemns the military provocation by neighboring Dunia and Tobago in coordination with the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Venezuela accused this action intended to trigger a full military confrontation with the Latin American country.

Joint military exercises between the US and Tokyo and Tobago are currently underway in the Caribbean.

Venezuela said it arrested a group of mercenaries with direct information from American intelligence agencies aimed at carrying out a false flag attack on the region.

A fake flag attack is an operation when an action is carried out in such a way that other parties appear responsible.

"False flag attacks are ongoing in waters borderingoximants and Tobago or from the Chilean or Venezuelan regions to trigger a full military confrontation with our country," the Venezuelan government said in a statement.

The statement made by Vice President Delcy Rodriguez did not provide further details or evidence regarding the allegations of the false flag attack.

Earlier this month, US President Donald Trump confirmed reports he allowed the CIA to conduct covert operations in Venezuela.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro previously accused a false flag attack, including plans to plant explosives at the US embassy in Caracas in early October.

The US under Trump's control carried out a number of attacks on ships in the Caribbean and the Pacific claimed by the government as drug smugglers. The Pentagon stepped up its military deployment in the Caribbean this Friday deploying the aircraft carrier fleet Gerald Ford.
