DENPASAR - Minister of Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia Natalius Pigai asked the police to thoroughly investigate the case of the death of a student at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Udayana University Timothy Anugerah Saputra.

Hal itu disampaikan Menteri HAM Natalius saat bertemu dengan Rektor Universitas Udayana Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana di Kampus Sudirman, Denpasar, Bali, Jumat, 24 Oktober.

"I ask the police to really resolve it, both with conventional investigations and scientific investigations, so that the latest results, whether there is a connection between death and bullying events exist. If not, then what causes death," said Natalius.

After holding a meeting with the Udayana University Campus, Bali, Natalius revealed that there were two things discussed in the meeting, namely the first related to the case of Timothy's death and the act of nirempathy after Timothy died which was allegedly carried out by Udayana University students.

According to him, to unravel whether there was a connection between Timothy's death and the bullying incident that occurred after her death, the police will announce it according to the results of the investigation.

"I have to convey that there were two incidents. The first incident was related to the death of the deceased. The second incident was related to acts of non-rempathy and non-rsimpathy. Between these two, whether there is a relationship or there is no relationship, only one, the police will determine," he said.

He explained that his party had coordinated with the police a series of investigative actions both conventionally and scientifically investigations, including checking cellphones and laptops belonging to the victim to find evidence or clues.

"They (the police) have investigated. They have asked for information to collect CCTV evidence and various things," he said.

He believes that after the results of the investigation are carried out, the police will convey whether there is a connection between the death of the late BAT and other actions.

He saw the public's reaction to the BAT death incident as a form of sympathy for the victim.

"Whatever happens in the public, we respect it as a sense of sympathy and empathy. It is hoped that with this, there will be no events that will come, no longer should cause the same thing," he said.
