Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi's Breakthrough, Choosing An Office In The Village For The Sake Of The Community

SURABAYA - The Mayor of Surabaya, Eri Cahyadi, will take turns working in the urban village so he can hear directly the complaints and desires of the community.

"God willing, starting Thursday tomorrow, I will wait for him in the sub-district, alternately in each sub-district. If you want to meet me in person, please meet me in the urban village," said Mayor Eri Cahyadi at the Tambaksari District Office, Surabaya, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, 19 May.

For the first day, the number one person within the Surabaya City Government (Pemkot) will have an office in Bubutan and Krembangan Selatan Villages from 09.30 WIB to 13.30 WIB.

Eri Cahyadi hopes that through the input submitted by the residents, the Surabaya City Government is not wrong when it comes to making a policy.

He also hopes that residents in the surrounding urban village can convey their complaints or wishes. For him, there is no other purpose to have an office in the kelurahan. This wish is only a form of istiqamah in serving the citizens of Surabaya.

"Because the positions we have will be held accountable to Gusti Allah," he said.

Mayor Eri Cahyadi admitted that the plan to have an office in the sub-district would be carried out every day with alternating schedules.

"Every day I will be in the sub-district, because I want to hear exactly how the complaints and desires of the people are. Because if I don't hear it myself, I am afraid to take the wrong policy," he said.

According to him, a leader has a big responsibility to his people. In fact, the mandate that is carried must also be accounted for before God. Therefore, in this way, he wants every policy taken really in the corridor.

"People who want to meet me immediately please, whether they want to complain about the performance of the village head, sub-district head, please convey it. Later we will find a solution," he said.

However, he reiterated that the steps taken were not aimed at finding out who was wrong and right, but how to find a solution to every existing problem.

"There is nothing wrong and right here. But, what should we do to improve the interests of society," he said.

The mayor stated that anyone who can work and carry out the mandate of serving the community, please become a leader. However, the opposite is also true. Anyone as long as they cannot carry out the mandate, please come out of a leader.

"Is it me personally, whether it is the head of the village, whether it is the head of the sub-district, let's correct it together. Because no human is perfect. Therefore, let's work with our hearts, let's be the solution," he said.
