JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that a number of roads in Jakarta were flooded due to heavy rains that flushed Jakarta from afternoon until tonight.

"BPBD noted that currently the inundation occurred on 5 roads inundated at 20.00 WIB," said Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta Isnawa Adji in his statement, Wednesday, October 22.

Puddles hit 4 roads in West Jakarta and 1 section in Central Jakarta. Among them: 1. Jalan Strategi Raya, Kel. Joglo, Kembangan District, West Jakarta Ketinggian: 40 centimeters

2. Jalan Basokoa Raya, Kel. Joglo, Kembangan District, West Jakarta Ketinggian: 50 centimeters

3. Jalan Kartika (Kolong Tol JORR), RW 04 Kel. South Meruya, Kembangan District, West Jakarta Ketinggian: 70 centimeters

4. Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Timur 3, Kel. Karet Tengsin, Kec. Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta Ketinggian: 10 centimeters

5. Jalan Srengseng Raya, Srengseng, Kembangan, West Jakarta Ketinggian: 30 centimeters

"The cause of the inundation is high rainfall," said Isnawa.

In addition, the rain that hit the DKI Jakarta area and its surroundings caused an increase in Pulo Gadung Water Gate Alert / Siaga 3.

BPBD DKI Jakarta mobilizes personnel to monitor inundation conditions in each region and coordinate elements of the Natural Resources Service, Highways Office, Gulkarmat Service to carry out inundation suction and ensure that the water lines function properly together with the local village heads and sub-district heads and prepare basic needs for survivors.

"The inundation is targeted to recede in a short time. BPBD DKI urges the public to remain careful and alert to potential inundation," he added.
