Arief Poyuono Reminds Novel Baswedan: No Need To Threaten To Raise Up, Just Accept Failed Assessments

JAKARTA - Former Deputy Chairperson of the Gerindra Party Arief Poyuono asked KPK senior investigator Novel Baswedan not to spread wild opinions and threats to the public regarding his statement regarding social assistance corruption which reached Rp100 trillion.

According to him, Novel did not need to bring up the case of social assistance involving PDIP politician Juliari P. Batubara, amidst his failure to become the state civil apparatus (ASN).

"There is no need to threaten to use social assistance cases. Because KPK employees who pass to become ASN also have the ability to uncover the case. It's not just Novel Baswedan cs, ”said Arief, Wednesday, May 19.

The novel was also asked to be able to end the noise related to the results of the national insight test (TWK). Where in the test, the name Novel Baswedan was not included in the 1,274 employees who passed or met the requirements (MS). His name is actually said to be in the group of 75 employees who failed or did not meet the requirements (TMS).

"Don't make noise and just accept the fact that you failed the assessment to become ASN," said Arief.

Arief reminded Novel and his friends who did not qualify so as not to make President Joko Widodo dizzy and bothered. This is because Jokowi has stated his agreement with the Constitutional Court (MK) decision in the Judicial review lawsuit on the KPK Law.

There is also this Constitutional Court decision which states that the status change to ASN must not be detrimental to KPK employees. This means, said Arief, the KPK is prohibited from treating all KPK employees differently. The KPK must provide the opportunity for all KPK employees to become ASN through an assessment process held by BKN through TWK.

"If you do not pass TWK, the KPK is obliged to give religious money because the employees have served for a long time at the KPK," he said.

If at this time Novel Baswedan is said to have failed along with 74 other employees, said Arief, then the decision to deactivate him is correct. Because they are no longer KPK employees because they are not ASN.

Meanwhile, KPK employees who graduate, starting next month, the facilities and salaries and their rights as civil servants should be enforced.

"If 75 KPK employees who do not pass the ASN examination are forced to remain ASN by all means, it means corruption of state money, because they have failed the ASN test," he said.
