Indonesian Navy Confirms One Fire Of Soldiers Involved In Confinement In South Tangerang

Head of the Information Service of the Indonesian Navy (Kadispenal) First Admiral TNI Tunggul confirmed that one Navy soldier was involved in the confinement mode of buying a car in the South Tangerang (Tangsel) area.

"This case involves a military disorder, namely, Praka MRA, who since July 12, 2024 has been fired," said Tunggul as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 20.

Tunggul said MRA was dishonorably dismissed by In Absentia or the person concerned was fired without attending the trial process.

Currently, continued Tunggul, the case against MRA is still being handled by the Navy Military Police (Pomal) of the Regional Naval Command (Kodaeral) III Jakarta.

"After that, the case files will be transferred to the Military Court considering that until now MRA has not yet served his dissertation," explained Tunggul.

When asked what case ensnared MRA until he was finally fired from the Indonesian Navy unit, Tunggul did not explain in detail.

Previously, Polda Metro Jaya arrested nine suspects in the case of confinement and mistreatment of four people in the South Tangerang area, Banten.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Brigadier General Ade Ary Syam Indradi explained that the nine suspects had the initials MAM (41), VS (33), HJE (25), S (35), APN (25), Z (34), I, and MRA (39). All of them are men but one woman with the initials NN (52).

"So, the actual victims were four, so one of the victims managed to escape, then made a report on Monday (13/10) to the Polda Metro Jaya," said Ade Ary Thursday (16/10).

Ade Ary explained that the incident began when the victim and his wife and two colleagues met the suspect with the initials NN on Saturday (11/10) at a restaurant in the Jagakarsa area, South Jakarta.

"Their goal was to hold a meeting, namely a car sale and purchase transaction, then the victim paid a down payment of Rp49 million by transferring it to the account of the suspect NN," he said.

When ordering food, the suspect NN and several other suspects came to the crime scene and immediately took the victim's cellphone and bag.

"There were four victims who were confiscated while they shouted. However, suspect NN and several other suspects shouted 'cooperative, cooperative', while immediately putting the four victims into the car," said Ade Ary.

In the car, the eyes of the victims were covered with black cloth, then the victims were taken to the South Tangerang area, taken to the house of another suspect with the initials MRA.

"Arriving there, the masks were opened by the perpetrators, then four victims were put in the room on the 2nd floor. One of the female victims was ordered to leave the room and heard a voice that her husband was being teased," said Ade Ary.

However, on Monday (13/10) at 05.00 WIB, the victim's wife managed to escape through the front door because the guard was sleeping, so the victim's wife ran away on a passing motorbike.

"The victim's wife continued her journey by taxi to the SPKT Polda Metro Jaya to make a report," said Ade Ary.
