JAKARTA - The working visit of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka to North Maluku was warmly welcomed by the people of Ternate City, especially when visiting Gamalama Market, Wednesday.

Accompanied by the Governor of North Maluku, Sherly Tjoanda, and the Mayor of Ternate, M. Tauhid Soleman, Vice President Gibran inspected a number of stalls from basic food traders, vegetables, to fresh fish.

The three interacted directly with traders and the community, asking about the price conditions of basic commodities and buying and selling activities in the traditional market.

In an atmosphere full of familiarity, Vice President Gibran seemed to have a dialogue with several traders who complained about the ups and downs of rice and chili prices. He emphasized the importance of maintaining price stability and strengthening regional food distribution.

Governor Sherly Tjoanda expressed his appreciation for the attention of the Vice President to the economic conditions of the people of North Maluku.

The North Maluku Provincial Government through the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) continues to strive to stabilize prices and strengthen the role of traditional markets.
