Unud Bali Student Dies Jumping From 2nd Floor Fissip Building

DENPASAR - University of Udayana (Unud) Bali student, died from falling from the second floor of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Fisip) building at Sudirman Campus, West Denpasar District, Denpasar City.

The head of the Udayana University Public Communication Unit, Dewi Pascarani, said the victim had the initials TAS (22).

"Regarding the incident in the FISIP Campus environment, Udayana University expressed its deep condolences for the passing of one of the students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, in the Sudirman campus environment," said Pascarani, Wednesday, October 15.

He explained, based on the testimony of witnesses and the results of the initial search, students with the initials TAS were known to have jumped from the second floor of the Fisip building at around 09.00 WITA.

The victim was taken to the hospital for medical treatment, but was not helped.

Udayana University has coordinated with the family, and continues to accompany the mother of the deceased while in the hospital.

Udayana University expressed full support to families in this process of condolences, as well as providing counseling services for deceased colleagues and affected academic community.

"The deceased is known as an outstanding student with excellent academic achievements until the seventh semester, in accordance with data at the faculty. Udayana University remembers the deceased as a person who has a high commitment in undergoing studies and set an example in academic achievement," he added.

As a follow-up, Udayana University is committed to strengthening student mental health assistance and care programs through counseling units at the faculty and university level.

"We also urge all parties to respect family privacy and avoid the spread of unverified information," he said.
