19 People Died As A Result Of Militant Attacks In Congo

JAKARTA - It was reported that 19 people were killed in a militant attack in North Kivu Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

At around 2 o'clock in the morning local time, the ADF terrorists [Allied Democratic Forces] carried out another attack. They attacked residents in Mukondo Village, Lubero area, in the Baswagha community, and carried out massacres. The death toll reached 19 people," said Head of the Lubero Military Administration, Alain Kiwewa, as reported by ANTARA from Sputnik-OANA, Tuesday, October 14.

According to the report, the rebels also burned down houses and looted warga's shops.

The ADF is a rebel group from Uganda that was founded in 1995 and operates in the western region of Uganda and eastern Congo.

In 2019, the group declared allegiance to ISIS, a terror group banned in Russia.
