JAKARTA - Hamas accused the Israeli regime of playing with the Palestinian prisoner list and avoiding implementing the terms of the ceasefire agreement, although it had previously committed to international mediators.

In an interview with Al Jazeera in Qatar, a member of the Hamas political bureau, Ghazi Hamad warned the Israeli regime showed the same behavior as international mediators, including the United States.

Referring to the upcoming meeting in Sharm el-Sheikh, Hamad stated that Hamas hoped that the forum would ensure the implementation of the agreement in accordance with agreed terms.

Hamad stressed Israel had manipulated the prison list and tried to remove several names that should have been released. This action he called a real violation of the agreement made through international mediation.

He also warned the cabinet of Israel's chief authority, Benjamin Netanyahu, would continue to threaten to continue the war against Gaza.

Therefore, it calls for pressure from the international community and Arab countries to prevent Israel from attacking Gaza again and force the regime to carry out the contents of the agreement.

The Hamas member stressed that valid international guarantees were needed to enforce a complete ceasefire and pave the way for the end of the occupation and fulfillment of the rights of the Palestinian people.

Regarding the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, Hamad said the main differences that are still happening today are related to the manipulation of Israel's list of detainees.

"Israeli regimes are not even honest with mediators, including America," he stressed.

Hamas, in full coordination with mediators from Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and the International Red Cross Committee, to ensure the exact implementation of the agreement, which includes the exchange of prisoners, the halt of aggression, and the withdrawal of Israeli militaries from Gaza.

The Israeli regime began a war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, with two main objectives, namely destroying the Hamas movement and releasing Israeli prisoners who are in the region.

However, Israel failed to reach both of these goals and was forced to agree to a prisoner swap deal with Hamas.

As for October 9, Hamas officially announced a deal had been reached to end the war in the Gaza Strip and make exchanges of prisoners. The Israeli military also officially announced the implementation of the ceasefire.
