House Of Representatives Commission XI: Affirms Taking Care Of IMB Before Rebuilding Islamic Boarding School Using State Budget

JAKARTA - Commission XI of the DPR RI reminded that the Building Permit (IMB) can be taken care of first before the government rebuilds the Al Khoziny boarding school building in Buduran, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java, which collapsed, using the state budget (APBN).

When met in Jakarta, Saturday (11/10), Deputy Chairman of Commission XI DPR RI Fauzi Amro said that currently only about 52 percent of pesantren in Indonesia have an IMB.

"In my opinion, the conditions are like that. Because that's how it is, if the construction permit is not issued, suddenly building it, yesterday the children were hired to build a cottage like that," said Fauzi.

He is of the opinion that the IMB data collection can be carried out by the Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, who has been assigned by President Prabowo Subianto to regulate aid regulations and IMBs that have not been recorded.

The absence of an IMB at the time of the establishment of a building, especially the boarding school, had a tremendous impact.

"If there is an IMB, that's clear. The location of the land, what kind of building, what kind of specifications, what kind of amdal is that like," he said.

Thus, before the rebuilding of the collapsed boarding school in Sidoarjo, said Fauzi, various permits, such as the IMB, must be verified because it is part of national education.

He also stated that it would be fine if the APBN was used to help rebuild the boarding school as long as the IMB requirements were met, especially since this year's education budget was the largest, reaching Rp735 trillion.

In addition, according to him, the collapse of the boarding school in Sidoarjo is a disaster that no one wants, so it needs to be helped.

However, in order not to cause gaps with public schools that need funds for infrastructure improvement, Fauzi said the government could make policies so that state budget assistance is allocated to rebuild Islamic boarding schools in Sidoarjo that cannot afford it. "The portion can be arranged, so not all Islamic boarding schools," said Fauzi as reported by Antara.

Previously, the Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar said that the rehabilitation assistance for Islamic boarding schools would only be given to underprivileged boarding schools.

"Those who really can't afford to carry out development, we will help," said Muhaimin Iskandar in a statement in Jakarta, Friday (10/10).

Then another criterion is the number of students is large and the level of building vulnerability is high. "The number of students must be above 1,000 students. Having threat vulnerabilities that endanger the comfort of teaching and learning," said Muhaimin.
