President Trump Announces Hamas-Israel Agrees On Phase One Of Plans To End War In Gaza

JAKARTA - United States President Donald Trump announced that the militant group Hamas and Israel had approved its "first phase" plan to end the Gaza war.

"I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have signed the first phase of our Peace Plan... HAPPY WITH THE PEACE BRINGERS!" - President Donald J. Trump," the White House wrote on social media X as quoted October 9.

The militant groups Hamas and Israel with US, Egyptian and Qatar mediators continue Gaza's indirect ceasefire negotiations, discussing a 21-point proposal initiated by President Trump, in a meeting held at Egypt's Sharm el-Sheikh resort since Monday.

"This means that all Hostages will be released soon, and Israel will draw their troops to the agreed line as the first step towards Strong, Lasting, and Eternal Peace," wrote President Trump at Truth Social, quoted by The Times of Israel.

"All parties will be treated fairly!" he stressed, in a widely understood message addressed to Hamas, who had asked for guarantees from President Trump that Israel would not continue the war once the hostages were released.
