Demul Asks West Java Residents To Contribute Rp1,000 Per Day, House Of Representatives Commission II: Even Though Voluntary Policies Are Considered

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the DPR RI, Zulfikar Arse Sadikin asked the Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi (Demul) and other regional heads to consider his policy of asking residents for a due of Rp1,000 per day. Although, the contribution is voluntary.

"Actually, it's not about Kang Dedi, yes, whoever is the governor, whoever is the regent, mayor, please consider it even though it is our nature, we are willing to make policies or appeals like that," said Zulfikar at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, October 7th.

"This happened in West Sumatra, if I'm not mistaken," he continued.

Zulfikar explained that regions including the state and society already have a way that can be used to produce financial sources. Such as taxes, levies, non-tax state revenues, grants, and so on.

"Just manage it as well as possible, just maximize it to finance government affairs because we see that the management of financial sources that have been justified by the law has not been maximized," said Zulfikar.

"The president himself admitted that many were leaked in receipts, many were leaked in shopping," added the Golkar legislator.

Therefore, the head of the commission in charge of domestic government affairs suggested that it is better for the local government to improve regional revenue governance and maximize income, and maximize its use.

"God willing, it will be more accepted by the community, it is more understood by the community, because it is the duty of the government. That's why there is no need to add another burden, it has been given space for that, yes, really take advantage of what is already there," explained Zulfikar.

Previously, Dedi Mulyadi or who is familiarly called KDM as the Governor of West Java discussed a policy of donating Rp1,000 per day for ASN in West Java. This program was initiated to realize the concept of residents helping residents.

"The Rp1,000 (regional) money will be held by the cash treasurer, right. Then for example, people come to complain again that waiting at the hospital need money to eat, or pay rent while waiting at the hospital, so just accept it, give it," said Dedi after attending the TNI's 80th Anniversary ceremony at Makodam III Siliwangi, Bandung, citing ANTARA, Sunday 5 October.

Later, RT/RW is projected to have cash that can be used to help residents. Like when there are residents who want to go to the hospital, but do not have a fee, they can come to the RT for assistance.

"At my place every night the patrol was a thousand rupiah, it was collected and it did not become a problem for people's lives there, so it became finished," he said.

This policy that carries the concept of togetherness, expressed by Dedi, adopted from the jimpitan rereongan program or a piece of rice when he became Regent of Purwakarta.

The program, he said, was successful, where the Education Office in Purwakarta Regency prepares several tons of rice every month sent to certain villages. "This is successful," he said.

As for the school level, Dedi emphasized that this is not a school levy, because in this program school children are directed to collect donations every day in the classroom treasurer.

Later this money will be used, such as if there are classmates who are sick to visit and help with treatment.
