Chromebook Case, Google Indonesia Officials Examined By AGO

JAKARTA - The alleged corruption case of the Chromebook procurement project at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) continues. The Attorney General's Office (AGO) examined 11 important witnesses on Monday, October 6, including officials from PT Google Indonesia.

Kapuspenkum AGO Anang Supriatna revealed that one of the witnesses examined was PRA, who served as director of government relations and policies of PT Google Indonesia.

"PRA as the director of government relations and PT Google Indonesia policies is also being investigated in this case," said Anang in his statement, quoted on Tuesday, October 7.

Apart from high-ranking Google Indonesia officials, the AGO also examined 10 other witnesses who came from various government agencies and private parties: 1.DS, ASN at the Goods & Services Procurement Policy Institute (LKPP).2. APU, member of the 2020 LKPP Electronic Catalog Election Working Group.3. SR, head of the Imaging Solution Division of PT Samafitro.4. GH, director of PT Turbo Mitra Perkasa.5. CI, major expert auditor at the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Education and Culture (2013-2024.6. INRK, plt director of the first middle school, Director General of PAUD Dikdasmen Kemendikbudristek (2022-2024).7. WJA, Acting director of SMA Ministry of Research and Technology (2022-2024.8. MWD, head of the general bureau and PBJ Setjen Kemendikbud 2020.9. TRI, head of the general bureau and PBJ Kemendikbudristek 2021.10 HK, treasurer of auxiliary expenditure of the Ministry of Education and Technology 2022.

According to Anang, this examination was carried out to strengthen the evidence and complete the filing of cases of alleged corruption in the Chromebook project which is currently being investigated. "The witness examination was carried out to strengthen the evidence and complete the filing in the case," he said.

Even so, the AGO has not disclosed the details of the examination material for the witnesses, including the role and involvement of each of the procurement projects.

This case of alleged Chromebook corruption is one of the public's concerns because it involves a large-value education project that aims to support the digitization of schools. The AGO ensures that it will continue to thoroughly investigate this case until all parties responsible are held accountable by law.
