Densus 88 Raids ISIS Network In West Sumatra And North Sumatra, 4 Perpetrators Spread Propaganda Through Social Media

The National Police's Anti-terror Special Detachment (Densus) 88 arrested four people who are members of the ISIS support network in West Sumatra (West Sumatra) and North Sumatra (North Sumatra) on October 3 and 6, 2025.

Spokesperson for the National Police's Anti-terror Detachment 88, AKBP Mayndra Eka Wardhana, said the four suspected terrorists were part of the Ansharut Daulah group. They are known to be actively spreading and provoking acts of terror through social media.

"They create and share content that supports Daulah ISIS," said Mayndra in Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, October 7.

The four perpetrators each had the initials RW, KM, AY, and RR.

RW was arrested in Padang City, West Sumatra, on October 3, 2025. He played an active role in creating propaganda content about Daulah ISIS.

KM was secured in Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra, on October 6, 2025, with the role of spreading propaganda on social media and uploading pictures of firearms on his account.

AY was arrested in Padang City on the same day, and is known to play the creator of ISIS propaganda content.

Meanwhile, RR was arrested in Tanjung Balai City, North Sumatra, also on October 6, 2025. RR played a role in provoking acts of terror and spreading support for ISIS.

In this operation, Densus 88 confiscated a number of pieces of evidence, including one green vest loreng, three sheets of paper with the ISIS logo, and three books entitled Kupas Tuntas Khilafah Islamiyyah, Against the Ruler, and Al Qiyadah wal Jundiyah which contained teachings on the enforcement of Daulah Islamiyah.

Mayndra reminded that radicalization on social media is still massive and has the potential to influence anyone, including the younger generation.

"Be more alert to every form of provocation and spread of radical propaganda on social media," he said.

Ia juga mengimbau masyarakat agar aktif mengawasi lingkungan sekitar, termasuk keluarga dan anak-anak, supaya tidak terpapar ideologi ekstrem.
