KPK Cecar Deputy Regent Luxury About Corrupted Road Projects

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has examined the Deputy Regent of Mempawah Juli Suryadi Burdadi at the West Kalimantan Police (Kalbar) office on Thursday, October 2 last week. The Deputy Regent was said to have been questioned about a road project in Mempawah Regency which led to corruption.

"Last week investigators investigated the legal products related to the road construction project of the Mempawah Public Works Office for the 2015 Fiscal Year," said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters in a written statement, Monday, October 6.

Budi said the legal product was investigated from July because he previously served as Head of the Legal Section of Mempawah Regency.

Apart from July, KPK investigators have also examined West Kalimantan Governor Ria Norsan, who previously served as the Regent of Mempawah.

However, this examination seemed silent considering that there was no schedule for examination or notification like witnesses in other cases. Ria Norsan was also questioned at the West Kalimantan Police office.

"The witness has deepened his knowledge of the DAK submission process and the role concerned is related to the construction project for the two roads that the KPK is currently handling," said Budi.

Previously reported, the KPK is currently investigating allegations of corruption in the improvement of Jalan Sekabuk-Sei Semeram and the work of improving the Jalan Sekit Rama-Sei Semeram at the Mempawah District Public Works Office for the 2015 Fiscal Year. The investigation warrant (sprindik) has been issued some time ago.

There are three suspects who have been named but have not been officially submitted. Based on the information obtained, they are Abdurahman as a civil servant; Lutfi Kaharuddin who is an entrepreneur or President Director of PT Aditama Borneo Prima; and Idy Safriadi as a civil servant of Mempawah Regency.

To find evidence, investigators have also searched a number of locations. Among them are the house of West Kalimantan Governor Ria Norsan to the official residence of Mempawah Regent Erlina.

However, the KPK has not detailed the results. Investigators are only said to be conducting analysis and confirming their findings to related parties.
