TNI's 80th Anniversary At Monas Will Be Congested, Police Urge Drivers To Use Alternative Routes

JAKARTA - The peak of the TNI's 80th Anniversary commemoration colored the atmosphere of Central Jakarta with the splendor of a military parade in the National Monument (Monas) area, Sunday 5 October. Thousands of troops from three dimensions, namely the Army, Navy, and Air Force, displayed spectacular formations that amazed the community.

This celebration is an important momentum that shows the readiness, professionalism, and national defense strength of Indonesia. In addition, this activity also strengthens the relationship between the TNI and the people as part of the spirit of togetherness that becomes the foundation of the nation's defense.

Through the official social media account of TMC Polda Metro Jaya, the Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya appealed to the public to avoid the Monas area and its surroundings in order to anticipate traffic congestion and congestion.

"All road users are advised to avoid the area around the National Monument area and use an alternative route that has been prepared," wrote TMC Polda Metro Jaya in a statement, Sunday, October 5.

A number of roads around Monas, including Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara, South, West, and East are expected to experience congestion due to road closures and diversion.

Supporting routes, such as Jalan Ir H Juanda, Jalan Abdul Muis, Jalan Kramat Kwitang, and Jalan Veteran were also affected by the slowdown in vehicle flow.

Polda Metro Jaya appealed to the public to comply with the directions of officers in the field and continue to monitor information updates through the official police channel so that the trip remains safe and smooth.

President Prabowo Subianto acted as inspector of ceremonies at the peak of the TNI's 80th Anniversary at Monas. Prabowo's presence became an important symbol because this was the first TNI Anniversary commemoration he led as head of state.

"The ceremony will be led directly by the President of the Republic of Indonesia as the inspector of ceremonies, accompanied by the Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces, the minister of defense, the deputy commander of the TNI, and all the chiefs of staff of the force," said Head of the TNI Information Center (Kapuspen TNI) Major General TNI (Mar) Freddy Ardianzah after a rehearsal at Monas, Friday, October 3.

In a series of events, President Prabowo is scheduled to tour using the Maung presidential car to greet the people around Monas. He will also join a group of equestrian troops passing through the Horse Statue area to the location of the ceremony.

The peak of this warning involved around 133,000 TNI soldiers from various units throughout Indonesia. A total of 1,047 main weapons systems (defense equipment) were also exhibited to the public.

The equipment displayed includes land combat vehicles, assault helicopters, fighter aircraft, warships, to various military technologies resulting from the innovation of the domestic defense industry. This defense system parade is a symbol of the modernization and strength of the TNI in facing future security challenges.

This year, the 80th Anniversary of the TNI carries the theme TNI Prima, TNI Rakyat, Indonesia Maju". The theme illustrates the professional, tough, and adaptive spirit of the TNI towards the times, as well as affirming its role as the protector of the people and guardian of the nation's sovereignty.

"The TNI is part of the people. Professionalism without closeness to the people is not a complete force. Therefore, the spirit of togetherness is the main key in maintaining the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia," said Major General Freddy Ardianzah.

In addition to military ceremonies, the celebration of the TNI's 80th Anniversary was also enlivened by air parades, attractions of joint forces, and people's entertainment featuring national cultural and musical performances.
