Police Use Bodycam To Monitor Mandalika MotoGP Security

JAKARTA - The National Police Headquarters uses surveillance cameras (bodycam) installed on the bodies of a number of police personnel to monitor the security situation and traffic flow during the MotoGP at the Mandalika Circuit on October 3-5.

Head of the NTB Police Command Center Command Center at the Mandalika Circuit, AKBP Ariakta Gagah Nugraha, said the installation of surveillance cameras or "bodycams" on the members' bodies was to facilitate monitoring and coordination when security disturbances occurred due to traffic congestion along the road to the Mandalika Circuit.

"We have installed 29 on the officer's body. The point is to facilitate monitoring when there is a security disturbance and traffic jam," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, October 3.

Officers fitted with surveillance cameras are placed in a number of crucial points that are considered prone to traffic congestion. Including, officers at security posts.

"So, it was scattered at the airport roundabout, in front of the airport until the officers guarding the Sunggu Roundabout, Mandalika," said Ariakta.

Ariakta stated that the surveillance camera installed on the officer's body could be seen or connected directly at the NTB Police command center within the Mandalika Circuit area.

"For example, once there is a traffic jam, the officers can immediately take action," he said.

In addition to bodycam, his party also monitors the situation through CCTV installed at 188 points, both inside and outside the circuit. The camera, this CCTV, both installed by the NTB Police and PT ITDC.

It is known that the total personnel involved, both the TNI and Polri and the NTB Regional Police, in securing the 2025 MotoGP, were 2,580 personnel.

This security is divided into 3 zones, namely west, central, and east, with seven task forces. This security is supported by anti-drone system technology and air monitoring using helicopters.
