JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal, asked for the tragedy of the collapse of the Al-Khoziny Islamic Boarding School building as a lesson for the central government, especially the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) to respond quickly in dealing with disasters.

According to Cucun, a quick response must be made in order to minimize casualties, especially since dozens of victims are still in search status even though the evacuation has entered its fourth day.

"Yes, so this is a lesson in the future, don't let the central government, BNPB, new disasters just go down. And of course it's been a while, yes now it's been three days, we also continue to mourn, especially hopefully given strength, especially the owners of the pesantre, then the children of students, their parents face a disaster like this, no one knows," said Cucun at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, October 3.

Cucun regretted that the decline in heavy equipment by BNPB was only carried out after waiting for the golden time to search for victims. Therefore, he asked this disaster to be a lesson for BNPB and BPBD to coordinate and respond to emergencies.

"This accident has only been going down for 2-3 days, this is a lesson in the future, don't let it happen immediately, they have emergency arrests below, if for example it's not an instruction, then coordination. So the BPBD-BPBD has been present in the area for emergency arrests," said Cucun.

The deputy chairman of the DPR for the Korkesra sector hopes that as many as 57 students who are still in search can be found safe. If, the students are found dead, the government must provide assistance and reinforcement for the survivors.

"Well, we also hope that there are still many who can be saved in this condition, because it looks like SAR itself, this is very careful, because there are still people inside, it is still possible to be saved," said Cucun.

"But we imagine that their psychology may also be combined with those who have died, this is what needs strengthening, not only BNPB, all stakeholders yes, strengthening their trauma and also the students whose friends experienced the disaster," concluded the PKB legislator.

Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Lt. Gen. Suharyanto, said that joint SAR Team officers, on Friday, October 3, again found four victims who died in the collapse of the Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School (ponpes), Buduran, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java.

Thus, a total of nine people died in the collapse of the Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School.

"More than 400 joint SAR team personnel work day and night for 24 hours," Suhartoyo said in a written statement.

The joint SAR teams involved are Basarnas, TNI-Polri, BPBD, Fire Department, Tagana Social Service, Public Works and Natural Resources Service, as well as a number of volunteers. The joint SAR team in conducting searches using re-assessment with physical methods, calling for victims' voices, and using special equipment such as Seaarch Cam Flexible Olympus, Xaver 400 Wall Scanner, and Multi Search Leader.

In the process, there were no signs of survivors. Therefore, officers conducted a search with a focus on evacuation and cleaning using heavy equipment.
