Stealing Malaysian Foreigners' Goods On The Plane, 2 Chinese Foreigners Refused To Enter The Republic Of Indonesia In Soetta

JAKARTA - The Special Class I Immigration Office for Immigration Checks (TPI) Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta), Tangerang, Banten, rejected foreign nationals (WNA) from China with the initials JW (39) and BR (49), entering Indonesia because they were involved in criminal cases.

Head of the Soekarno-Hatta Immigration TPI Inspection I Section, Patuanta Agum Gumilang Rambe, said that the attempt to reject the arrival of the two Chinese citizens was because they were caught stealing goods belonging to passengers from Malaysia while on the plane before arriving at Soetta Airport, Tangerang, Banten.

"The two perpetrators stole cash in the amount of 750 Singapore dollars and 3 debit cards belonging to Malaysian passengers," he said in Tangerang, Friday, which was confiscated by Antara.

Agum explained, based on information received by the theft incident, it occurred on the Scoot Airlines TR-268 flight on the Singapore-Jakarta route on Thursday, October 2.

Furthermore, realizing that the victim's belongings were stolen, immediately reported the incident to the flight cabin crew. The report was forwarded to Air Traffic Control (ATC) and then to airport and police security.

"When the plane arrived, Soekarno-Hatta Police personnel who had coordinated with immigration immediately picked up the 2 Chinese nationals in front of the gate and were taken to the immigration office room for inspection," he explained.

He revealed, from the results of the examination, the two perpetrators from China handed back the belongings of the victim they had stolen. Furthermore, the victim chose not to proceed to the legal process, but the theft committed by the perpetrator on the plane became the basis for refusal to enter Indonesia.

"Because they have not passed the Immigration Checkpoint, both of them have been refused entry to Indonesia. We refuse to enter and we give a denied entry stamp on their passport," he said.

He said, according to the procedures of Scoot Airlines airline, it was responsible for repatriating the two troubled perpetrators to return to their departure airport or to Singapore.

"Because he has committed a criminal act, he must return to the Origin airport with a Scoot Airlines TR279 aircraft to Jakarta-Singapore," he said.
