Trump Sunat 7.6 M US Dollar Grant Fund For 16 Kamala Harris Voting Areas

JAKARTA - The administration of the President of the United States (US) Donald Trump canceled 7.6 billion US dollars in grant funds in 16 states of Kamala Harris' voter in the 2024 US Presidential Election. The grant funds were originally intended to finance hundreds of clean energy projects.

This is a real threat to Trump against the Democratic Party which the White House sees as the culprit for the closure of the US government after the Senate's disagreement in the discussion of the draft law (RUU) on federal budget spending.

Citing AFP, Thursday, October 3, the US Department of Energy said in a statement on Thursday local time that 223 projects had been operationally suspended because they were deemed economically unfit for not meeting US oil and gas needs.

US Department of Energy officials did not provide details on what sectors were affected regarding the laying of hundreds of projects. However, in a statement, they said the projects whose funding discontinued came from the Clean Energy Demonstration Office, the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Office, and other Energy Department bureaus.

According to the Natural Resources Defense Council, a US nonprofit, the cuts in grant funds are likely to affect battery factories, hydrogen technology projects, power grid upgrades, and carbon capture efforts, from the large number of clean energy projects in the US.

White House budget director Russell Vought likened the circumcised of this grant budget to "the left-handed climate agenda funding is being canceled." This was revealed by Vought in a social media post on Wednesday night.

Vought revealed these affected projects include California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Vermont, and the state of Washington.

Vought and the US Department of Energy did not explain how they compiled a list of states that were targeted for grant budget cuts, considering dozens of other states also have clean energy projects.

However, the 16 states that no longer receive a grant budget from the US Government are supporters of the presidential candidate Kamala Harris rival Trump in the 2024 US Presidential Election. Harris and Republicans are known to oppose the draft law (RUU) for short-term federal budget spending so that the US government shut down.
