Minister Of Health Says Government Implements 3 Certifications To Prevent Toxic MBG Menu

JAKARTA - The government has implemented three certifications, namely a Sanitation Higiene Laik Certificate (SLHS), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and halal certification, to prevent extraordinary incidents (KLB) from poisoning due to Free Nutrition Eating (MBG) from happening again.

Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that in Jakarta, Thursday, the three are the minimum standards for the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG).

"Now, the three certification processes will be added to one more recognition from BPOM. So the Ministry of Health and BPOM and BGN will work together to carry out certification," said Budi.

He mentioned that the government had discussed the acceleration of the three certifications, so that the process was fast, had good quality, and there were no expensive permits.

The HACCP certification is to ensure the quality of food processing facilities, while the SLHS is for human resource certification.

According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), HACCP is a science-based food quality and safety control system that monitors biological, chemical, and physical hazards throughout the process, from production to consumption.

In addition to certification, his party, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) will carry out external supervision once a week to strengthen internal supervision of the MBG program by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN).

"Earlier, the Head of the National Food Agency said that there are standards to check the quality of raw materials. Earlier, we also discussed that the water quality is very important to determine whether the food served will be good or not. The National Nutrition Agency will also carry out the monitoring process on a daily basis," he said.

His party has also coordinated with the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education to strengthen supervision at the beneficiaries level, by utilizing the School Health Unit (UKS).

According to him, this is important because there are around 450 thousand schools under the authority of the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education.

"At least when we eat what comes, we can teach it, look at the colors that change or not, something smells strange or not, the physicality is mucus or not. Now, simple supervision, we will work together with all existing schools," he said.
