JAKARTA - The police managed to apprehend two lovebirds, a man with the initials ADP (26) and a woman from LNW (19) who had the heart to throw away a baby on Jalan Kemanggisan Utama Raya, Palmerah, West Jakarta.
"The two perpetrators were arrested in two different locations on Tuesday (September 30). The man was secured in Kebon Jeruk, while the woman was detained in Kalideres," Palmerah Deputy Chief of Police Iptu Widodo told reporters, Wednesday, September 1.
The two lovebirds are a married couple who married betel. For more than two weeks on the run, the two of them did not hide. They also still work normally in their respective workplaces.
"So, these two perpetrators continue to work as usual. So they don't hide. So work as usual," said Widodo.
For their actions, the two perpetrators were charged with Articles of Child Abandonment Crimes, namely Article 76B and 77B of Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning amendments to Law Number 24 of 2002 and or Article 305 of the Criminal Code, with a maximum sentence of 5 years in prison.
