TANGERANG - The Soekarno-Hatta Airport City Police (Polresta), Polda Metro Jaya, has named a foreign national (WNA) from Cameroon with the initials S as a suspect in the alleged abuse case against Customs officers at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang.
"A Cameroonian citizen for his case position has been named a suspect, namely the initials S," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police, Kompol Yandri Mono, in Tangerang, Antara, Wednesday, October 1.
This case originated from the accusation that S admitted to losing 5,000 US dollars after undergoing an examination at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Customs and Excise. However, the allegations were not proven after the police checked CCTV footage.
On the other hand, Customs and Excise officers reported S for alleged abuse and spread of fake news through the social media account @esty_linggar.
Yandri explained that even though he had been named a suspect, S had not been detained because he had returned to his country before being summoned by the police.
"In order to arrest the law, we will communicate with related parties through the National Police's Hubinter to make calls or arrests," he said.
The police said they had pocketed two sufficient pieces of evidence, one of which was CCTV footage showing S committing acts of violence against Customs officers on duty.
For his actions, S is suspected of Article 352 of the Criminal Code regarding persecution and Articles 212 and 213 of the Criminal Code regarding violence against public officers who are carrying out their duties.
The first call was reasonable for business, but it was not acceptable. The second call was also not responded to," said Yandri.
