US Government Official Shutdown, Trump Blames Democratic Party

JAKARTA - The United States (US) implemented a government shutdown following the Senate and US President Donald Trump experiencing a stalemate in agreeing on a state budget plan to run the federal government.

The policy makes hundreds of thousands of government employees in federal departments and institutions, especially the public sector, affected by mass layoffs (PHK).

Trump accused the Senate of disagreement over the budget plan to make this happen.

"So we will dismiss many people who will be greatly affected. And they are the Democratic Party, they will remain the Democratic Party," Trump told reporters in the Oval Room, White House, quoted by AFP.

Trump argued that the government's closure was partly due to the demands of the Democratic Party regarding the health care funding budget.

"There are many good things that can be produced from the closure of the government," he continued.

The ratification of the federal government's budget plan previously approved by the US House of Representatives (DPR) failed. The hope will be approved on Monday this week but the sudden meeting at the White House did not produce progress.

Federal government operations were then suspended or shut down at 00.00 a.m., Thursday 1 October.

Today, the US Senate is on holiday related to the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur.

It is possible that the follow-up hearing of the US state budget issue will be held again tomorrow Friday or early next week.

The previous government closure took place almost seven years ago and lasted for 35 days.
