Kapuk Expansion Becomes Three Kelurahan, The Prosecutor's Office Ensures Budget Guards

The West Jakarta District Attorney (Kejari) will oversee the construction of two new urban villages resulting from the expansion of Kapuk Village, Cengkareng District. The two areas are Kapuk Selatan Village and Kapuk Timur Village.

"The West Jakarta Prosecutor is certainly ready to fully support the policies taken by the governor because that is a form of aspiration from the community as well," said Acting Head of West Jakarta Kejari Haryoko Ari Prabowo to reporters, Wednesday, October 1.

Prabowo explained that the Kejari would assist the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in overseeing the development budget for the two new urban villages. According to him, supervision was carried out from the start so that the use of the budget was right on target and in accordance with the designation.

"The point is this expansion is to make it easier for the community, there is nothing else. Regarding the budget, we, the West Jakarta District Attorney, are always ready to carry out escorts," he said.

Prabowo added that the form of escort carried out by the West Jakarta Kejari was in the form of early detection of potential irregularities in the management of the development budget.

"So we do this escort to prevent and detect potential irregularities early. But hopefully there will be no deviations and no deviations. I'm sure this is all professional people," he said.

It is known that the expansion of Kapuk Village into three urban villages is stipulated in the Governor's Decree (Kepgub) Number 850 of 2025 which was signed by the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, on September 23, 2025.

Prior to the expansion, the population in Kapuk Village was 174,349 people with 221 RT and 16 RW. This number can reach 3 times the total population in other urban villages.

Kapuk Village has an area of 572.62 hectares with a density of 34,014 people per square kilometer.

After being turned into 3 urban villages, Kapuk Village (induk) will have 59,176 residents in 52 RT and 3 RW, Kapuk Timur Village has 36,203 residents in 68 RT and 6 RW, and South Kapuk Village has 75,998 residents in 101 RT and 8 RW.

West Jakarta Mayor Uus Kuswanto explained that currently his party is proposing land and planning for the construction of two sub-district offices. The target is that this new kelurahan office will be able to function in the next two years.

"Hopefully in five centuries Jakarta will be finished. Anyway, 2027, as stated by Mr. Gub in rapim, God willing, June 22, the South Kapuk and East Kapuk sub-districts have been completed," said Uus at the Kapuk Village Office, West Jakarta, Tuesday, September 30.

The plan is that the East Kapuk Village Office will be built on the land of the former West Jakarta KPKP Sub-dept. Office with an area of 5,094 square meters on Jalan Livestock Raya.

Meanwhile, the South Kapuk Village Office will use land belonging to the West Jakarta City Parks and Forests Sub-department with an area of 1,503 square meters on Jalan Melati.

"Regarding human resource needs, they will be adjusted to the coefficients. So it is estimated that one kelurahan is 15 personnel. Maybe it will be discussed in detail again at the Organizational Bureau," explained Uus.
