The National Police Chief Invites Civil Leaders To Academics To Discuss Police Reform

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said he would absorb all aspirations, criticisms and suggestions for the good of the National Police institution in the future.

He made this statement regarding the holding of public dialogue activities that presented a coalition of civil society and other institutions.

"Of course we want to hear directly from the Civil Society what the Police must do in the future in maintaining the democratic space so that it continues to run smoothly, safely, and also conveyed messages," said Sigit, quoted on Tuesday, September 30.

According to him, dialogue or discussion activities will continue in the future. This, said Sigit, is important to do to absorb the aspirations of the community, in the hope that the Police can become the institution expected and loved by the community.

"Because there is an incident of rioting, of course, this will also be a discussion later with him how to anticipate solutions in the future and how we have to sort which ones can be processed, which ones we will then provide restorative, and which ones in the future should we educate both from the police side and other friends. Maybe that is a matter of some conclusions that we get," said Sigit.

With this activity, Sigit also ensured that the National Police would continue to make reform transformations and adapt to all forms of challenges of the times.

"In the future, of course, this discussion will not only stop here but can continue, maybe in other informal meetings and of course, the Police will continue to strive to make improvements in the transformation of reform, things that we really have to do in accordance with the times," said Sigit.
