Israel Detains Seven People At Camp Refugees Ramalah And Closes UNRWA Medical Center

JAKARTA - Israeli forces detained seven residents from Ramallah and al-Bireh provinces in the West Bank, Palestine, including a child early Monday.

Security sources told WAFA Israeli occupation forces stormed the Jalazone refugee camp, north of al-Bireh, and detained several people after raiding and searching their homes, as quoted September 29.

The source further revealed that the troops also raided the al-Dawayima office and turned it into a center of field investigation. They conducted field investigations on a number of residents and closed UNRWA's medical center (Union Assistance and Work Agency of the United Nations for Palestinian Refugees) before it was finally withdrawn.

The source indicated that the occupation forces detained a 14-year-old child and his 18-year-old cousin after raiding their parents' house in the Ein Misbah neighborhood, Ramallah City.

Last week, UNRWA confirmed 12 of its facilities in Gaza City, Palestine were hit by direct or indirect attacks between September 11 and 16.

In a statement on its official website, UNRWA wrote, among the facilities targeted there were nine schools and two health centers, which accommodated more than 11,000 refugees.

The only UNRWA health center in northern Gaza Wadi, located in the Al-Shati refugee camp, was forced to halt its operations on September 13 due to more intensive attacks and damage that occurred during the raids.

The UN agency further explained that major damage to the city's infrastructure, coupled with severe disruption to humanitarian operations and access restrictions, severely hampered the last remaining life path for civilians in Gaza City.
