JAKARTA - The Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) strengthens the expenditure permit and income of plant seeds with transparent and measurable governance to ensure the quality, availability, and sustainability of national agricultural production.

"The licensing process for income and seed expenditure is needed to accelerate production achievements in Indonesia, especially in anticipation of pest and disease disturbances," said Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Ali Jamil in a statement in Jakarta, Saturday.

Therefore, he said the role of the Center for Protection of Agricultural Plants and Licensing (PPVTPP) was vital in determining the feasibility of seeds before being disseminated by other parties.

He encouraged business actors to have certificates from the government, at least they had an Autonomous and Procedural Risk Analysis (AROP). This is important because it is related to international trade and licensing agreements.

Ali said that as a concrete step, the licensing process provided must have a prime, professional foundation and be able to provide solutions to improving the quality of seeds in Indonesia. He emphasized that this was in line with the direction of the Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman and Deputy Minister of Pertanain Sudaryono in realizing food self-sufficiency quickly and briefly.

"This is our effort to expedite all of our efforts in following up on what the President (Prabowo Subianto) has directed us, Mr. Minister of Agriculture and Mr. Wanentan," said Ali.

He gave an example of the Ministry of Agriculture receiving direction from President Prabowo to develop domestic needs so as not to export. One of them is a picture that Indonesia is currently still importing wheat, so the Ministry of Agriculture is encouraged to be able to grow wheat independently. Ali said that the permit process for both exports and imports must be labeled with a certificate issued by the government officially.

On the other hand, the government will also improve services in accordance with applicable standard operating procedures (SOPs).

"PVTPP must collaborate with other ministries and institutions. Then for entrepreneurs once again I say we must have AROP because it is an international agreement," Ali added.

The Ministry of Agriculture's Center for Agricultural Crops and Licensing Protection (PVTPP Center) held a meeting with cross-principles entitled "Increase of Plant Seed Income and Expenditure Licensing Services" attended by business actors as well as other ministries and institutions.

Head of the Ministry of Agriculture's PVTPP Center Leli Nuryati encourages various companies engaged in the coaching sector to follow all government licensing processes, especially in issuing seeds in Indonesia.

This step, according to Leli, is very important to ensure the protection of seeds from various bad possibilities, such as the bearer of plant-disturbing organisms or OPT and prevent claims from other countries related to native seeds from Indonesia.

"Why is this important, because until now we still need seeds, both from us and abroad. Therefore, we must discuss how the income and expenditure policies must be discussed together," said Leli.
