BNN Drug Convict Escapes: Flush Officer's Face With Chili Water

JAKARTA - Head of Drug Eradication Division of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of North Sumatra Province Kombes Pol Sempana Sitepu said the escaped drug prisoners did not commit vandalism in the BNN Sumut building." The prisoners only doused the officer's face with chili water and carried out a crowd-to-day raid," Sitepu reported by Antara, Monday, May 17.

He explained that there was no damage to the cell door, nor any other facilities in the office of BNN Sumut." The prisoners only escaped by hitting the officers. The escaped prisoner has been convicted and will be tried in the Medan District Court," he said.

Sitepu said the escaped prisoners were residents of Sumut and Aceh, and were involved in international narcotics networks. Earlier, five male prisoners of BNN drug north Sumatra province escaped from the cell room block B room 1 in the office of BNN Sumut, Sunday, around 00.28 WIB.

The chronology of the incident is as follows, some prisoners shouted for drinking water.

Then when the guard would put gallons of water into the cell room, they suddenly from inside the prisoner poured chili water on the officer's face and hit his eyes, then pushed and punched the officer. When officers resisted and controlled the door of the Block B cell to prevent the prisoner from escaping, the officer was also again beaten, held and pulled into the cell hallway. The five escaped prisoners, namely Marzuki Ahmad aka Tengku, Rahmat Hidayatullah aka Mhd Isbandi, Muhammad Junaidi, Irwanda, and Zulfikar.

Previously, the escaped prisoners numbered six people, but one of them was arrested on behalf of Salim Saragih who had not yet escaped from bnn Sumut office.
