Dirut Ancol Can Be A Stern Rebuke From Anies Due To Tourists

JAKARTA - President Director of PT Taman Impian Jaya Ancol Teuku Sahir Syahali admitted that his party received a stern rebuke from the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan due to tourists who had been arrested on Friday, May 14.

From the reprimand, Ancol management decided to temporarily close all tourist sites from Saturday, May 15 to Monday, May 17, 2021.

The closure is carried out in the beach area to existing recreational units such as Dunia Fantasi, Seaworld Ancol, Ocean Dream Samudra, Atlantis Water Adventure and also Allianz Ecopark including restaurant tenants in ancol tourist area.

"This (ancol closure) is a follow-up to the governor's rebuke. Instructed to close the beach immediately. We immediately acted in line with the efforts of the Provincial Government of Dki Jakarta to reduce the potential spread of the COVID-19 virus," sahir said.

Sahir claimed the number of Ancol visitors is still in accordance with the 30 percent capacity limit specified during the Eid holidays, with a total capacity of 192 thousand. However, there were crowds in a number of areas such as the beach. Where, many people crowded the beach with no masks.

During the closure, Ancol strengthened the application of health protocols throughout the region, including spraying disinfectants throughout vital recreation areas.

"We will disinfect all areas and evaluate the strengthening of the application of health protocols throughout the region, we also do efforts in order to improve the application of health protocols, cleanliness, and comfort in all areas of Ancol Dreamland," he said.

Furthermore, for visitors who already have an online ticket that can not be recreation during the closing of Ancol can use it twice and valid until December 31, 2021.

"We understand the inconvenience and disappointment of visitors who are forced to cancel the intention to spend the Eid holiday in ancol area because of the closure of the area" said Sahir.
