JAKARTA - Stepping on foot at the UN headquarters, New York, US President Donald Trump was immediately irritated. It is not a matter of foreign politics or a trade war, but an excalator and teleprompter that causes it.

"It destroys your country, and you have to do something on the world stage," Trump said.

Trump is among about 150 heads of state or government expected to address the assembly this week.

He spoke eight months after his second term marked by a massive cut in aid that has sparked humanitarian concerns and raised doubts about the future of the United Nations.
