JAKARTA - A hijab-wearing mother who swears and makes harsh and inappropriate remarks when asked by officials who perform tasks in the restrictions on Eid al-Fitr 2021 homecoming in the border areas of Bogor and Sukabumi districts, West Java, went viral. According to Dr. Lita Gading M.Psi., Psychologist what the mother expressed is over pede attitude aka excessive confidence. "The mother according to my observations from the viral video that circulated included experiencing so-called over pede, excessive confidence," she told VOI who contacted her Sunday, May 16.

What is the cause of this over pede? "The causes can be various. Perhaps he felt he had a backing or a relative who was a police officer, so he was very confident swearing and issuing such harsh words to the officer. But it is not proper for him to say those words. The officers are not wrong, they are just carrying out the orders of superiors," he said.

What the officers did was not aimless. The government is still struggling to prevent the spread of COVID-19 which is still uncontrolled until now. Massive migrations such as those that occur during homecoming make the virus can spread to the hometown. This is what the government does not want which then imposes restrictions on homecoming.

Those who are really urgent and on duty are certainly excluded from this homecoming rule. But many people are making various efforts to escape the noose of homecoming restrictions. Starting from finding a tukus road, utilizing ambulance cars, and other ways that are sometimes dangerous.

In Riau a few days ago three travelers had to stretch their lives when they were going home and planned to spread out in their hometown in West Sumatra. Because there are restrictions by road the river path is then chosen. But unfortunately at that time the river currents were not friendly so they were dragged by the current and found in a state of lifelessness.

Lita advises all parties to comply with the rules set by the government.  "I understand we are all saturated with these restrictions and that. You can't go there and come here.  But remember we have to know the purpose of the government doing all this. Nothing else to minimize the spread of COVID-19. The government wants its people to be healthy. That's what's not understood," he continued.

He also highlighted the issue of law enforcement in this homecoming restriction rule. Because the authorities are sometimes still weak in law enforcement. "Before Eid al-Fitr yesterday we witnessed several interception points in the Bekasi area bobol. Travelers are pushing themselves through restrictions. If there is strict surveillance again, but when there is no loose supervision anymore," he criticized.

The key word in the homecoming according to Lita Gading is consistency in law enforcement. "Law enforcement must be clear, firm and consistent. The law must be enforced and apply to everyone without exception. Discipline must always be applied and consistent (stable)," he said after the discussion with VOI.
