Membludak And Dituding Abai Prokes, Salat Id Jemaah In Annur Mosque Bekasi Highlighted By Foreign Media, This Is The Reaction Of The Local Government

JAKARTA - The City Government (Pemkot) of Bekasi, West Java responded to a viral photo of Idulfitri prayer pilgrims who were wearing half the road body at Annur Kranji Mosque, West Bekasi, Thursday, May 13.

The government confirmed the viral photo while ensuring the implementation of covid-19 health protocol (prokes) was done properly.

"We justified the incident, it's just that the response of many people on social media related to the unfulfillment of covid-19 health protocol we make sure is not true," said Head of Public Relations Setda Bekasi Sajekti Rubiah in Bekasi reported from Antara, Saturday, May 15, night.

He claimed the photo taken by a reporter from antara National News Agency cited by a number of foreign media such as Reuters and BBC News-Indonesia went viral.

The photo was later on screenshoot and accused of not meeting health protocols.

"This photo was taken from a distance plus the angle of taking the photo managed to show the number of worshippers who were solemnly following one of the prayer movements. As a result, the photo looks tight and shows worshippers crowded the streets of Jenderal Sudirman," sajekti said.

Bekasi City Government ensures the implementation of health protocols applied by the administrator of Annur Kranji Mosque.

Some evidence documentation has shown the application of health protocols ranging from spraying disinfectant liquids in the mosque area, preparing masks and hand sanitizer fluids, checking body temperature before entering the mosque area, to the application of distance keeping between worshippers.

"Worshippers also use their prayer mats, the principle of keeping distance between one worshipper and another is also applied," he said.

In addition, the board of The Prosperity Council of Mosques or DKM Masjid Annur Kranji has also bagged a crowd permit from the Bekasi City Police Department to the permit to use Jalan Jenderal Sudirman from the Transportation Office and Satpol PP Bekasi City.

Sajekti also stated that Annur Mosque is included in kranji village and surrounding areas which in fact are in the green zone of the spread of COVID-19. The implementation of Salat Id at the location was held at 06.30-06.50 WIB with a duration of five minutes of prayer followed by religious lectures for 15 minutes.

"After the implementation of Eid al-Fitr prayers, the DKM management implemented health protocols by re-spraying disinfectants in the mosque area to the street," he said.
