PASANGAYU The murder case against Hj (19), an employee of PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) in Pasangkayu Regency, West Sulawesi, sparked the anger of residents. Hundreds of people damaged the house of the perpetrator with the initials Rs (33) on Sunday afternoon.

The perpetrator was previously arrested by the Pasangkayu Police after it was revealed that he killed the victim whose body was found in a coconut plantation belonging to a resident of Tangga-neighbor Hamlet, Sarjo Village, Sarjo District.

"We have secured the perpetrator and are currently still in intensive examination to account for his actions," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pasangkayu Police AKP Rully Marwan in Pasangkayu, Antara, Sunday, September 21.

This case began with a report from a missing person on Thursday, September 18. On Saturday at around 08.00 WITA, the victim Hj was found dead in a coconut plantation in almost unsuited condition, while his uniform was wrapped around his neck.

The victim was immediately evacuated to Ako Hospital for an external examination. In the evening, the forensic team at Bhayangkara Mamuju Hospital conducted an autopsy.

According to Rully, the victim was last seen visiting the house of a PNM customer with the initials Nl. At that time, the victim was Nl's husband, Rs. The victim had time to collect credit but the perpetrator admitted that he did not have the money.

The perpetrator then took the victim on a motorbike to find a loan to a neighbor, but failed. On the way, the two got into an argument.

"The victim said that if you can't pay, don't be in debt. This statement made the perpetrator offended and then committed physical violence," explained Rully.

The perpetrator even took off the victim's pants with the aim of embarrassing if someone else found his body. After that, Rs left Hj at the scene and hid the victim's motorbike about 100 meters from the scene before returning on foot.

Hj's tragic death angered the residents of Pasangkayu. On Sunday afternoon, hundreds of people came to the perpetrator's house in Sarjo Village and damaged an empty building.

"We urge residents to remain calm and entrust the handling of cases entirely to law enforcement officials," said Rully.
