BANGKALAN Bangkalan Regency Government (Pemkab), East Java, has denied allegations of illegal levies (extortion) in managing the administrative completeness of prospective Government Employees with a part-time Work Agreement (PPPK) in its area.

Regional Secretary of Bangkalan Regency, Ismet Efendi, emphasized that all financial administration carried out by related institutions, including health centers and hospitals, had referred to the provisions of Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 1 of 2024 concerning Regional Taxes and Levy.

"The news is not true. In the regional regulation it has been written that the tariff for making a health certificate to apply for work is Rp. 15,000 per letter and a ticket for outpatient services is Rp. 25,000, so the total cost is Rp. 40,000. So this is according to the rules, not extortion, "said Ismet in Bangkalan, Sunday.

He emphasized that the official's signature process on the part-time PPPK requirements document was not charged at all, aka free.

"I have confirmed directly to all regional apparatus, including assistants. As a result, no extortion was found in this process. So if there is an issue of extortion, it is clearly wrong," he said.

Ismet also added that the Bangkalan Regency Government is committed to keeping public services transparent and free from illegal levies.

"We ensure that the PPPK process runs according to procedures without any parties being harmed," he said.

Previously, news circulated on a number of social media platforms that the Bangkalan Regency Government had made illegal levies for PPPK candidates at half-time during health checks at various local health facilities.

Meanwhile, 5,511 non-ASN personnel in Bangkalan Regency are now appointed as part-time PPPK. They are required to fill out the Life History List (DRH) as a condition for determining the Employee Identification Number (NIP) by the State Civil Service Agency (BKN).

The part-time PPPK personnel come from various fields, ranging from technical personnel, health workers, to education personnel.
