Enthusiastic Citizens Visit TMII, Managers Limit Entry

JAKARTA - The enthusiasm of the citizens to visit Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) on Saturday, May 15, is so high. As of 10:00 a.m., there are already 11 thousand visitors coming and this number continues to grow so that the manager restricts entry for new visitors.

"In the TMII area visitors reach about 18 thousand then the entrance will be closed and opened after there is a reduction in visitors inside", TMII Head of Public Relations Adi Widodo told VOI, Saturday, May 15.

He ensured that this weekend, TMII will remain open as usual and ready to receive visitors. However, he does not yet know when re-entry will be opened.

"We don't know when the access will open yet, because it depends on the outflow of visitors from the inside", he said.

Adi ensures that COVID-19 prevention health protocols will be strictly implemented at these tourist attractions.

"Health protocols in TMII will be strictly enforced. Masks are mandatory, high body temperature is not allowed. In addition, handwashing facilities are also available adequately", he said.

For visitors who neglect to adhere to health protocols, of course, will always be reminded by the officers. "If it is about visitors who are difficult to tell, there are also those", said Adi.

Furthermore, he explained on the first day of Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijri on Thursday, May 13, there were 12 thousand visitors who came to the tourist attraction. While on the second day of Eid al-Fitr or Friday, May 14, there were 23 thousand.

The operational hours of TMII which has an area of 150 hectares start at 06.00 WIB-20.00 WIB.

If TMII remains open as usual and restricts entry when visitors reach 18 thousand, Taman Impian Jaya Ancol closes its operations today, Saturday, May 15. The closure was done to tighten health protocols.

"Ancol is temporarily closed on May 15, 2021", said Taman Impian Jaya Ancol Corporate Communication Manager, Rika Lestari, in a written statement.

Earlier on Friday, the management of Taman Impian Jaya Ancol closed the access gate in and out of visitors or at 17.00 WIB.

The closure at the main gate was carried out in response to the rules of restrictions on visitors during the Eid holidays set by the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta.
