Internet And Phone Network In Gaza Back To Normal After Israel's Land Operations Were Cut Off

JAKARTA - The internet and telephone networks in Gaza have been repaired after experiencing two days of disruption due to Israeli attacks targeting Gaza City infrastructure.

The official Palestinian news agency WAFA broadcast a statement from the Palestinian Telecommunications Company (Paltel) regarding the matter.

As reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Friday, September 19, the statement emphasized that although the situation on the ground was dangerous, the team on duty succeeded in improving services in Gaza and North Gaza's governorship.

On Wednesday, the Palestinian Telecommunications Regulatory Authority announced damage to many main roads as the continuing Israeli attacks disrupted internet and ground communications services in northern Gaza and Gaza City.

This outage, which usually lasts for several hours or days, isolates the Gaza Strip completely from the outside world and has a direct impact on vital sectors whose functions are limited.

Among the affected were civil defense, ambulance services, and hospitals.

In addition, the disturbance hampered the distribution of humanitarian aid and paralyzed many aspects of everyday life.

Israel has repeatedly cut off communications and internet networks for a long time during attacks on the Gaza Strip, which has lasted for nearly two years.

Despite criticism from the United Nations and human rights organizations, which called the act dangerous and immoral, Israel still did so which violated international law.

According to Euro-Mediterania Human Rights Monitoring, communication and internet have been completely cut off in Gaza since the start of the Israeli attack in October 2023.

The organization declared the policy "systematic, aimed at isolating Gaza from the outside world and covering up crimes committed by Israel."
