Fatmawati 2 Toll Gate Free Opens, Simatupang TB Congestion Drops 24 Percent

Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno said that the opening of the Fatmawati 2 Toll Gate for free in the afternoon and evening was able to effectively reduce the level of congestion in TB Simatupang.

The opening of the free toll gate will be implemented last Monday, September 15 at 17.00 to 20.00 WIB with one lane on the far left.

"If you get a report from the Department of Transportation, it will decrease by 24 percent. With the opening of the Fatmawati toll road with this free system, it is actually enough to help," said Rano in the National Monument area, Central Jakarta, Friday, September 19.

Continuing, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung also received a report from the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency. After Fatmawati 2 Toll Gate was busy, there was a significant decrease in congestion from 5 pm to 8 pm.

"To this day, it has shown a tremendous decline. Even the public also gave appreciation for that," said Pramono.

In the initial stage, the opening will be tested for five days, as well as the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency conducting a study to assess its effectiveness and contribution in breaking the horror congestion at TB Simatupang.

If in the first week of evaluation it shows effective results in unraveling the traffic density at TB Simatupang, Pramono will extend the opening of the toll gate until the end of October.

"Tomorrow we will decide whether we do it until the end of October. Because the end of October is the deadline for completing projects in that place," he explained.
