There Is Still A TNI On Guard At The DPR Building, Minister Of Defense: Until The Situation Is More Conducive

JAKARTA - Minister of Defense (Menhan) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, spoke up about the existence of the Indonesian National Army (TNI) guarding the Indonesian Parliament Building.

According to the Minister of Defense, the deployment of troops within the Parliament Complex will be carried out until the situation is really conducive after the demonstration that took place at the end of last August.

"The TNI will maintain the symbol of state sovereignty in the DPR, so I have agreed and the Commander will follow up with the chiefs of staff that the DPR installation will be guarded by the TNI," said the Minister of Defense at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, September 16.

"Until, earlier he said it was conducive, (up to, red) it was even more conducive," he continued.

Nevertheless, the Minister of Defense denied that the current situation in Indonesia was called less conducive. According to him, the political and national security situation is conducive, it just needs to increase guarding so that the community is more secure.

"Yes, it is up to the assessment of the situation, if it is necessary we must be in the midst of the people. So that the people can be safe and comfortable at work," said the Minister of Defense.

In addition to the DPR building, the Minister of Defense said that guarding by the TNI would be carried out in other agencies if needed. He also emphasized that guarding by the authorities should not be categorized as an unfavorable situation.

"Yes, government installations that need attention related to our sovereignty take care of everything," he said.

"There is no need for action, the important thing is communication. We have one social communication system, we will do this territorial development," said Defense Minister Sjafrie.
