Ricuh Demo Losses At The DIY Police Headquarters Reached IDR 28 Billion, Had Disrupted Service

JAKARTA - The Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) Police estimated a loss of up to around Rp. 28 billion due to the chaotic demonstration on Friday, August 29 to Saturday, August 30, which resulted in damage to a number of public service facilities within the Yogyakarta Regional Police.

"The total loss of state property (BMN) assets from the Yogyakarta Regional Police is in the form of buildings and equipment of around Rp. 28 billion," said the Head of Public Relations of the Yogyakarta Regional Police, Kombes Pol. Ihsan in his statement in Yogyakarta, Monday, was confiscated by Antara.

He said the damage caused by the riots included the Integrated Police Service Center (SPKT), the Police Record Certificate (SKCK) service, and a number of other service rooms at the Yogyakarta Regional Police Headquarters.

Although it was disturbed, according to Ihsan, public services have now gradually returned to normal.

Ihsan emphasized that the acceleration of improvement of facilities and infrastructure is now being carried out so that all services are running optimally again.

"The damage that occurred had indeed disrupted service operations to the community, but this made us even more excited to immediately rise stronger and more solid," he said.

With this acceleration step, Ihsan emphasized that the DIY Police are committed to providing a sense of security and comfort for people who need police services.

"In fact, this is a momentum for the Yogyakarta Regional Police to rise faster, improve themselves, and ensure that people continue to get the best service," said Ihsan.

Previously, demonstrations ended in chaos at the Yogyakarta Regional Police Headquarters, Sleman, on Friday, August 29 evening until Saturday, August 30 in the morning.

The demonstration, which started in the afternoon, heated up around 18.00 WIB after two police cars parked in the yard of the Yogyakarta Police Headquarters were burned.

A number of facilities were damaged, including the Integrated Police Service Center (SPKT), ATM machines, to the headquarters fence.
