Overcoming Traffic Jams In Simatupang, DKI Increases Lanes At Fatmawati 2 Toll Gate

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works has implemented a trial of using an additional one lane at the Fatmawati 2 Toll Gate to unravel congestion around Fatmawati MRT Station and TB Simatupang Street, on Monday 15 September afternoon.

"People from Fatmawati Street who will go to Lebak Bulus, in addition to using existing roads, can also use an additional one lane to the far left of the Fatmawati 2 toll gate and free of charge," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Service (Dishub), Syafrin Liputo in his statement in Jakarta, Monday, September 15.

Syafrin said the toll road manager was willing to open a lane at the toll gate for traffic canalization from Fatmawati to off-ramp Lebak Bulus.

According to him, this policy applies only to four-wheeled vehicles. It does not apply to two-wheeled vehicles or vehicles more than four-wheeled.

The trial was carried out on Monday-Friday, September 15-19 2025, at 17.00-20.00 WIB. This is because it refers to data from the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency that the volume of vehicles is high during peak hours.

Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI continues to try to overcome the problems of congestion that occur in the Simatupang TB area due to a number of construction projects carried out in the local area.

These efforts include adding 14 Transjakarta fleet units to the area to encourage people to switch from using private vehicles to public transportation.
