'I'm Not Going To Let You Down': Inhil Residents Arrested For Pistol Assemblies

INDRAGIRI HILIR - Kemuning Police, Indragiri Hilir Police (Inhil), Riau arrested MA (38) residents of Batu Ampar Village for allegedly possessing a short-barreled firearm (pistol) type revolver.

Paur Public Relations Police Inhil Ipda Esra said the arrest of MA began with information from the public who often heard the sound of explosions around the suspect's house.

Police Chief Kemuning Kompol Benhardi then ordered his members to follow up on the report by investigating around the suspect's residence.

At around 04.00 AM, personnel arrived at the suspect's house and conducted a search and arrest of MA for allegedly committing a crime of making ammunition-type explosives (revolver bullets).

"From the search results found evidence in the form of one revolver bullet, three revolver shell casings, 21 matchboxes, one iron-shaped tube inscribed with 50 grams and one knife," he explained quoted Antara.

Ersa explained that based on the information from the suspect, the shell casing was obtained from the WI which is currently under investigation. Wi also ordered the suspect to make the revolver ammunition.

"The result of the development of the suspect, projectile bullets are made by melting goods made of lead and then formed to resemble projectile bullets. As for gunpo if the suspect makes it from the head of a matchstick that has been smoothed," he explained.

Police again conducted a search of the suspect's home and yard, eventually finding a firearm and 17 Hilti explosives. The suspect and his evidence were taken to Kemuning Police Station for further investigation.

"Ma imposed Emergency Law No. 12 1951, the threat of a sentence of 20 years in prison," he said, also reminding the public not to play with illegal firearms because the sanctions are severe.
