Tragic Story In Bogor: Grandmother And Uncle Burned To Death By Their Own Grandson

BOGOR - Police arrested a 16-year-old teenager who allegedly set fire to a catfish pecel kiosk that killed his grandmother and uncle in the Gunung Putri District, Bogor Regency, West Java, Thursday, September 11.

Gunung Putri Police Chief Kompol Aulia Robby explained that the fire occurred last Sunday and caused the deaths of two victims, each with the initials S (53) and TAR (28).

According to him, the initial investigation found irregularities because the victim's grandson who also lives in the kiosk was not at the scene after the incident took place.

The police then conducted a search and found the teenager in the Citeureup area on Monday. After being questioned, he is strongly suspected of being the perpetrator of the arson and was designated as a Child in Conflict with Law (ABH).

"Now it has gone up to the investigation stage, the witness status of the victim's grandson is from a child in conflict with the law to become a child in conflict with the law," he said.

Robby added that before setting fire to the kiosk, the teenager first hit his grandmother and uncle using a blunt object until they were unconscious.

After that, the perpetrator took gasoline from the motorbike and set fire to the kiosk occupied by the victim until they were found dead by firefighters.

For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 338 and/or Article 340 and/or Article 365 Paragraph 3 and Article 187 Paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code concerning the crime of murder and arson.
