Nadiem Learns Togetherness With Eid At Home

JAKARTA - Minister of Education Nadiem Anwar Makarim learned a lot of togetherness by celebrating Eid at home.

"We learned a lot by celebrating Eid at home for the second time, especially about togetherness," Nadiem wrote on his official Instagram account @nadiemmakarim quoted by Antara, Thursday, May 13.

Nadiem invited Lebaran this year which is celebrated still with the atmosphere of the COVID-19 pandemic, as a reminder of concern for others and the importance of mutual spirit to realize the recovery of Indonesia.

"Happy Eid al-Fitr. Minal 'Aidin wal-Faizin. We apologize born and inwardly," wrote Nadiem.Task Force handling COVID-19 asking the public to celebrate Eid al-Fitr 1442 H at home only. People are asked not to go home.

Earlier, Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian asked governors, regents, and mayors throughout Indonesia to take steps to restrict iftar together and ban open houses during and after Eid al-Fitr. It is stated in Circular Letter (SE) No. 800/2794/SJ concerning Restriction of Iftar Activities together in Ramadan and Prohibition of Open House / Halalbihalal on Eid al-Fitr 1442 H / Year 2021, signed by the Minister of Trade on Tuesday, May 4.

The SE was issued after noticing an increase in cases of COVID-19 transmission, especially during the celebration of Eid al-Fitr last year and after the Christmas and New Year holidays 2021.
